Booker T. Washington Tennessee State Park

The Booker T. Washington State Park is just off Hwy 58 near Harrison, Tennessee. It sits on the Chickamauga Lake with opportunities for water enthusiasts with a day-use boat launch and a large fishing pier shown below. Fishing licenses are required.

I like to hike and many of the trails parallel the edge of the water. There are several trails, all easy. The bike route is rated for everyone. I am not confident enough in my off-road biking skills so I leave that to the mountain bikers. 

Inner Loop 1 Tr -  2.25 miles
Inner Loop 2 Tr - 1.20 miles
Nature Trail - 1.10 miles
Outer Loop Tr - 3.90 miles
Single Track Bike Trail - 6 miles loop (expect long, uphill climbs with fast downhills and banked turns). 

The swimming pool is currently closed. There are several shady spots to park your car and sit in the shade. Bring your chairs for many shady spots; however, there are a few picnic tables. I have been at least twenty times over the past two years and rarely felt crowded. If you desire a secluded hike or a quiet fish on the bank, Booker T. Washington State Park is your place. ​
